Blue Apron is revamping their meal delivery service with Ready-To-Make meals to make cooking for young people even easier. The brand already dishes out “home-delivered, pre-portioned recipes,” but young consumers are still complaining that cooking the means requires too much effort. Thus, the ready-to-make meals were born, and while they do take a bit of assembly, there is no chopping or cleaning required. Starting later this month, all of the ingredients can be placed in a recyclable aluminum tray that can then be popped in the oven for a quick heating time. Blue Apron is using their high quality ingredients as their biggest selling point, but it’s been difficult to keep up with “grocery giants like Kroger, Walmart, and Amazon.” Young consumers are latching onto the idea of ready-to-go meal kits but, “the appeal of managing a monthly subscription when you could just have a meal kit delivered along with your regular groceries has clearly waned.” YPulse’s Cooking and Diets report shows young consumers are committed to healthy eating, but 73% of Millennial parents say they need easier family recipes.
