NFL+ is the new streaming service die-hard sports fans without cable have been waiting for.

Jul 22 2022

NFL+ is the new streaming service die-hard sports fans without cable have been waiting for. Arguably the biggest American sports brand is finally getting their own streaming service. NFL+ will include live sports games weekly, so fans will no longer have to pay for pricey third-party services like Hulu Live and ESPN. Although there is no set price or release date, the service will give users “access to local and nationally televised games on Sundays…but only on unspecified ‘mobile devices’ through the NFL app.” It’s hard to say how this will go over with older fans, but for Gen Z and Millennials, YPulse research shows that more young viewers are watching content on their mobile devices. While football fans might not be able to stream any game they want, they will be able to listen to the radio broadcast of every game. NFL+ is also giving users the chance to watch any preseason game regardless of location/streaming device. YPulse’s Sports and Athletics report shows football is the sport Gen Z and Millennials watch on screen the most and over half (54%) of Gen Z and Millennial males say sports are the only reason they still have cable (but now that’s subject to change).
