Instagram is helping influencers by adding to their creator subscriptions. The app has been expanding their subscriptions to over 10K creators over the last several months and “those creators can choose to charge subscribers anywhere between $0.99 and $99.99 per month.” Meta has even committed to not taking a cut until 2024. In addition to profile badges for subscribers, subscriber-only stories/livestreams, Instagram is now offering, “subscriber-only chats, subscriber-only posts, subscriber-only Reels, and a new Subscriptions tab that collects all of a creator’s subscriber-only content in one place.” Not only do these offerings allow creators to have more predictable income, it allows subscribers to get exclusive content from influencers they love. YPulse research shows that 80% of Gen Z is following a TV/movie celebrity, musician, online celebrity and/or athlete on social media. (Tubefilter)
