Instagrammable LED lights are trending with young consumers on a mission for glowy skin.

Jul 18 2022

Instagrammable LED lights are trending with young consumers on a mission for glowy skin. Chrissy Teigan and Shay Mitchel are perfect examples of celebs who are also part-time influencers—and their beauty tips and tricks have been populating their socials for quite some time now. The two have been spotted donning “cyborg-like” LED face masks on Instagram, but young consumers are jumping in on the practice to prove the tech is not another celebrity gimmick. Skincare professionals are even taking to TikTok in support of the LED masks as well and #LEDLightTherapy has over 30.8 million views on the app. Young consumers are claiming the LED lights are transforming their skin and encouraging cell turnover. The color of light therapy affects the results: blue light can help treat acne while red light “is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties.” While the LED masks can be quite pricey, YPulse research shows 65% of Gen Z females are spending more money on skincare products than makeup.
