Prospective college students might be able to ditch their formal applications in the near future. Sage Scholars is allowing students to create online profiles showcasing their academic careers in place of written applications. The program is eliminating the fear of rejection letters and allows colleges to view student profiles for recruitment as well. Originally, Sage Scholars’ main focus was helping students afford tuition but now they are actively assisting students by formulating profiles that are sure to attract college admissions. The profiles will contain students’ interests, transcripts, and test scores and have the ability to be directly admitted from the profile—all at no cost to the student or college. Some of the colleges participating so far include Rollins College, Centre College, Loyola University New Orleans, and the University of Rochester. YPulse has been following the dropping rate of college enrollment stats and by making the application process easier our Education report data may be subject to change. Currently, our data shows Gen Z students are valuing work experience (56%) over college degrees (41%). (IHE)
