PayTalk is a new app allowing users to easily complete virtual transactions with their voice. PayTalk is one of the first products featured in Amazon’s Black Founders Build with Alexa Program and was developed after the founder was frustrated by how time consuming it is to fill out a charity donation form online. The app uses AI technology to participate in conversation and carry out transactions through smart devices. Within PayTalk, users can, “find a ride, order a meal, pay bills, purchase tickets and even apply for a loan.” Along with Alexa, the app incorporates Siri and Google Assistant, allowing users to “add voice shortcuts like ‘Hey Siri, make a reservation on PayTalk.’” The company is confident in reaching a young consumer audience and recognizes that Gen Z and Millennials are already using voice tech throughout their day when they check the weather app, play music, and call their friends/family. The app’s full range of functions still have a long way to go, but YPulse’s Speaker Culture trend report data shows 63% of Gen Z and Millennials agree that voice assistants do make their lives easier.
