Netflix is not only planning for Squid Game Season 2, they’re gearing up for a reality game show based on the series—enter Squid Game: The Challenge. In a fight hopefully not to the death, 456 players will gather from all over the globe and participate in obstacles (yet to be known), for a chance to win the whopping $4.56 million prize. “With both the largest cast and lump sum cash prize in reality TV history,” the ten episode series will be full of “tension and twists.” While the original is a Korean series, the reality show is looking for English speaking contestants and will film in the U.K.—an interesting choice considering YPulse has tracked the show’s success among Gen Z and Millennials during the first season’s release and our recent Local / Global Citizenship Report data shows 76% of 13-39-year-olds agree: “it doesn’t matter what country a TV show / movie is from, if it’s good I’ll watch it.” (The Verge, IndieWire)
