A TikTok-famous dermatologist is releasing her own “3D” skincare line with both topical and ingestible products that promise skin health from within. Buzz words like “skin microbiome” are trending all over #SkinTok and dermatologists like Dr. Whitney Bowe, M.D. are using them to go viral. Bowe has emphasized the link between skin and gut health for years and in her TikTok videos, which get over 6.2 million likes, she posts tips/tricks, debunks skincare myths, and tells followers that they need more than the right topical products to have good skin. Now she’s selling a “3D” approach to skin care: a combination of both topical and ingestible products, like Bowe Glowe Microbiome Nourishing Cream and Bowe Growe Pomegranate Microbiome Elixir with “polyphenol-rich drops meant to be mixed into water for a gut health boost.” She also prioritizes sustainability on her channel and warns her viewers to stay away from single-use packaging, which is why she created her products with sustainable ingredients like squalene and is using recycled glass bottles/plastic, and has a refillable moisturizer. YPulse’s Personal Care and Beauty Shopping Report data shows 32% of 13-39-year-olds say they’re interested in trying clean beauty products and words like “sustainable” (60%) and “eco-friendly” (56%) and clean (66%) were among some of the top labels that young consumers told us would make them more likely to buy a beauty product.
