A new Twitter shopping feature is alerting users of limited product drops. Product Drops, will allow brands to tweet links to their upcoming launches to tease customers of special items before their release. Shoppers can sign up for alerts by clicking a “remind me” button before the product drops. The app says they want to play into the fact that their platform is already used for building hype around limited-edition and high demand products, and YPulse’s research shows shows 43% of 13-39-year-olds have purchased a special edition / limited release item from a brand and 31% would pay more for a limited edition product.
