Weedmaps and THC seltzer brand Cann assembled a camp LGBTQ+ campaign group for Pride Month. The brands joined forces for a music video where they showcase an original song, “Tastes So Good,” sung by an all-star cast of LGBTQ+ celebrities and allies, getting the word out about Cann’s new lite drinks sold through legalized Weedmaps marketplaces. The video features Olympian Gus Kenworthy, Ru Paul’s Drag Race contestant Kornbread, ally Sarah Michelle Gellar, singers Kesha and Hayley Kiyoko, and more. The co-founder of Cann and creative director of the video said, “‘As a queer-founded brand, it was a dream come true to work on this campaign with the most amazing, tribe of queer icons and celebrity allies,’” and a Weedmaps report found “37% of consumers express a desire to shop with LGBTQ-owned cannabis vendors.” YPulse recently wrote about the ways brands are authentically supporting LGBTQ+ youth beyond advertising, and while young people want brands to support the causes they’re passionate about, including LGBTQ+ discrimination / rights, they also want brand LGBTQ+ efforts to go beyond merch and Pride Month campaigns.
