One Direction fans are taking to TikTok with niche memes after Liam Payne’s appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast. According to YPulse’s Clicking on Community Trend Report, 33% of Gen Z and MIllennials are a part of a fandom, and musicians are one of the top things their fandoms are focused on. This week, one famous fandom was resurrected via TikTok, as One Directioners collectively responded to Logan Paul’s recent interview of former bandmate Liam Payne. Clips and responses to Payne’s comments, which included disparaging claims about his former band members, have gone massively viral on the app as dormant Directioners came together to “defend, theorize, and make incredibly layered jokes about these five men on the internet.” Responses include deep cuts and obscure throwbacks only true fans would understand, like a clip of spoons being manufactured with the text “Me after watching Liam’s Logan Paul podcast,” which is of course referencing the fear of spoons Payne confessed back in 2011, and currently has over 6.3 million views.
