Spin Master And 6ix Academy partnered to release a diverse fashion illustration kit for kids. YPulse’s Representation in Action trend research found that more than half of Millennial parents have purchased a toy for their child to teach them about diversity. Recently, toy brand Spin Master partnered with Canadian arts program 6ix Academic to create and release a fashion illustration set “to promote diversity and inclusion through play.” The Truly You! Character Creator is designed for kids ages 8 and up, includes 11 colored pencils, an on-the-go storage case, and is inspired by templates used in fashion design. Kids will be able to use one of nine double-sided plates to dress up six characters in a variety of outfits and trace the outlines on a blank sheet of paper using a rubbing crayon. The kit features an Indigenous fashion designer and Muslim beauty influencer, and each character comes with a collector’s card that outlines their unique identity, background, and interests.
