Beauty brands supported AAPI Heritage Month through limited-edition collections.

May 31 2022

Beauty brands supported AAPI Heritage Month through limited-edition collections. YPulse research found that racism is a top cause young people are passionate about and want brands to support—and we told you that young activists started the #StopAsianHate and #VeryAsian movements to combat the increase of racism and discrimination in the AAPI community. In honor of AAPI Heritage Month this year, the beauty industry stepped up for the community through limited-edition sales, advocacy, and support for nonprofit groups. The Celebrating AAPI Beauty box featured products from AAPI-owned brands like Cocokind, Fable & Mane, Glow Recipe, Hero Cosmetics, JinSoon, Live Tinted, Mount Lai, and Tower 28—with a portion of sales going toward Heart of Dinner, a nonprofit advocacy group that helps feed elderly Asian Americans. Meanwhile, Soko Glam sold a “Then I Krave’d” tote bag full of products from AAPI-owned brands including Then I Met You, Krave Beauty, and Good Light, and donated 100% of proceeds to Seniors Fight Back and AAPI Women Lead.
