Midterm elections are only a few months away, and young voters are pessimistic about the state of the country.

Midterm elections are only a few months away, and young voters are pessimistic about the state of the country. In a survey by Teen Vogue and Change Research 90% of voters under 35-years-old feel the country “is on the wrong track.” Their views on the state of politics and opportunity are overwhelmingly negative, with the majority feeling that corporations have too much power, the economic system favors the wealthy, and the American Dream is not true for their generation. They also overwhelmingly favor progressive policies, incuding the right to safe abortion access, legalizing cannabis, protecting unions, and reducing carbon emmissions. This year, more of Gen Z will be able to cast their ballots and their priorities will be brought to light–unless their disillusionment keeps them from voting. (Teen Vogue)
