French fintech company Helios is appealing to young consumers’ values by making a commitment to sustainability. Many European fintech brands have emerged with the mission of wooing Gen Z, who are just stepping into financial responsibility and are looking for easy tools as they build their financial literacy. But more than just offering easy-to-use digital tools, Helios has promised to not fund any polluting industries, such as oil and coal, opting instead to only support environmentally-friendly investments—and offer its users complete transparency about where their money is going. Dubbed one of the first digital eco-banks, Helios’s mission appeals to young Europeans’ concerns about the environment: YPulse’s WE sustainability report shows that the majority of young Europeans’ are worried about climate change, and its impacting their future plans and everyday purchases.
