Nivea Men is launching a line of products made from recycled carbon dioxide. Known as the Climate Care line, the German brand’s new products contain cosmetic ethanol created from carbon dioxide captured from industrial chimneys, making it not just green but climate-neutral. YPulse has been tracking Gen Z and Millennials’ climate anxiety for a while now, and our WE sustainability research found that the majority of young Europeans are worried about climate change and have changed some behavior to help fight it. This has led clean beauty to become increasingly important among young Europeans—our WE Beauty and Personal Care research found the majority of young consumers are more likely to buy beauty products labeled “eco-friendly,” “all-natural,” and “sustainable.” Nivea’s new product line is tapping young Europeans’ eco-consciousness with innovative technology that is intended to make a real environmental impact—and helps them keep their skin healthy, too.
