Amazon Prime Video launched 500 drones into the Rome sky to encourage the city to perform karaoke—and promote its latest original film. Streaming services have been getting creative with their entertainment marketing for a while now, including Netflix holding fans hostage on an airplane to premiere season two of Money Heist and tapping the “magical powers” of real-life witches to make predictions about the new season of its popular series, The Witcher. Now, Amazon Prime Video is following suit. To promote its new original movie, Laura Pausini – Piacere di conoscerti (Pleased to Meet You), the streaming service used drones to spell out lyrics to some of her most famous songs above Rome, creating a city-wide karaoke session.
