Young music fans are spending big on concerts as live experiences return. YPulse’s The In-Between trend research found that over half of Gen Z and Millennials say they plan to return to going to concerts in-person within the next year. As popular artists return to the stage and music festivals make a comeback, spending on concerts is increasing—and so are ticket prices. According to Pollstar, the average ticket price in the U.S. has jumped 10% from 2019 and fans are paying nearly $80 per show. Live Nation also reports that fan spending on food, drinks, merch, and parking at live music events is up more than 10%. Major musicians including Bad Bunny and BTS are the biggest winners of live music’s return right now, bringing in more than $3 million and $8 million in one night, respectively, during their most recent tours.
