Gen Z’s climate anxiety is impacting how they plan for their futures. A survey conducted by 4-H and Harris Poll found that eight out of 10 teenagers expect climate change to affect major life decisions such as where they live and whether to have children. Additionally, 69% worry their family will be affected by climate change in the near future. More than three-fourths of 13-19-year-olds say they have a responsibility for protecting the future of the planet and feel empowered to act, and they are also looking for meaningful action from political and global leaders to protect the environment. Climate change is one of the biggest problems Gen Z says their generation faces today, and our sustainability research shows 78% of young consumers say corporations should take more responsibility for fighting it. Creating reusable / eco-friendly products while actively taking part in the fight for the environment is key for reaching this generation. (Axios)
