LYS Beauty is the first Black-owned clean beauty brand to be sold at Sephora.

Apr 05 2022

LYS Beauty is the first Black-owned clean beauty brand to be sold at Sephora. BIPOC young consumers have been driving the skincare trend for some time, and we told you that young people are interested in the clean beauty craze. In fact, one-third of BIPOC young consumers tell us they’re interested in buying clean beauty products. Founded last year by Tisha Thompson, LYS Beauty is the first Black-owned clean beauty brand being sold at Sephora, which has been keeping its promise to be more diverse and inclusive by including Black and BIPOC-owned brands on its shelves. Thompson started the brand to “diversify the clean beauty space” after noticing the lack of diverse shade ranges formulated with clean ingredients. The brand offers everything from skincare solutions to cosmetics. Its flagship product, the Triple Fix Serum Foundation, comes in 35 shades for customizable medium coverage, and has already sold out twice. According to Thompson, she wants to expand the brand into different product categories and build general brand awareness so that “beauty lovers can finally have solutions that are made with their skin tone, concerns, and budget in consideration.” (Fortune)
