Sustainable fashion brand Pangaia teamed up with Snapchat to let users virtually try on its new sneakers made from grapes. With young consumers telling YPulse they’re interested in AR shopping experiences, launching activations inside Snapchat is one way to reach them—and more brands are jumping on board. The latest is U.K.-based Pangaia, a DTC online retailer known for combining science with design to create innovative and sustainable textiles. Now, the brand is releasing its new shoes made of Vegea, a wine industry waste product made up of discarded grape skins, stalks, and seeds. Snappers can swipe through available colors of the sneaker and seamlessly purchase through the app, making it a fully virtual shopping experience. (The Drum)
