Latinos are more likely than White or Black American adults to identify as LGBTQ. According to a Gallup poll, 11% of Latino adults surveyed said they were members of the LGBTQ community, compared to 6.2% of non-Hispanic White adults and 6.6% of Black American adults who said the same. Gallup researchers note that the difference is “largely due to the fact that Latinos skew young, and youth is closely tied with LGBTQ identity.” The research found that 21% of poll respondents who are Gen Z identify as LGBTQ, while just over 10% of Millennials do. YPulse research found that Gen Z is more likely to identify as LGBTQ+, with 22% of 13-20-year-olds telling us they do compared to 14% of 21-39-year-olds. (Axios)
