Duolingo wants to help consumers in the U.K. and France get rid of their bad foreign-language tattoos.

Duolingo wants to help consumers in the U.K. and France get rid of their bad foreign-language tattoos. We’ve all heard the horror stories of people getting “love” tattooed on their arm in Sanskrit, only to find out the lettering really means “garbage fire.” To help these “unfortunately inked” souls, young consumer-favorite language learning platform Duolingo is taking applications to find the worst foreign-language tattoos in France and the U.K. and give them a “DuoOver”—winners will be given a free trip to Paris to have their tattoo fixed at Abraxas tattoo parlor. Applicants must post a photo of their tattoo on social media using the hashtag #TattooDuoOver, or email the brand if it’s too embarrassing for social media’s public eye. Duolingo is one of the top-rated brands among young Europeans, an accolade it has won in part by employing creative marketing strategies and a relatable social media presence—the brand has earned 3.3 million followers on TikTok while its mascot has become an internet celebrity. The “DuoOver” campaign continues to humanize the brand—and keep things entertaining for young consumers. (Fast Company)
