Kitchen restock TikTok videos are the new ASMR.

Mar 21 2022

Kitchen restock TikTok videos are the new ASMR. Spend a few minutes on TikTok and you’re likely to come across videos documenting “restock days”—a.k.a. sessions where users take viewers on a journey of restocking the fridge, pantry, cleaning supplies, bathroom, you name it. This type of content has boomed on the platform for its (weirdly) soothing qualities, with #Restock generating more than 8B views. Home organization videos have also skyrocketed in popularity on TikTok for having a similar, ASMR effect on viewers. ASMR, an acronym for autonomous sensory meridian response, popped off circa 2018-2019 for its calming, entertaining nature. Whether it’s enjoyed via watching soap cutting videos, listening to someone play with slime, or in the case of restock videos, hearing the “pop” of opening an airtight container, the “glug, glug, glug” of a glass being filled, or snacks pouring into a picture-perfect glass jar, ASMR is a popular niche on TikTok brands should know about.
