“High vis orange,” bondage-inspired looks, and duvet dressing are some of the fashion trends that took over NYFW.

“High vis orange,” bondage-inspired looks, and duvet dressing are some of the fashion trends that took over NYFW. YPulse told you maximalism / dopamine dressing will be a popular fashion trend this year, and vibrant orange hues were a prominent focus of designers’ runway looks at New York Fashion Week. The color is described by experts as “a whimsical high vis orange,” and was featured in minimalist looks from Michael Kors, Anna Sui’s collection of furry jackets and bold prints, and streetwear-inspired pieces from Dur Doux and Monse. Clothing emulating bondage was also prominent throughout NYFW, seen via looks heavy on the color black, skin-baring silhouettes, leather, and dresses with cutouts. Fringe and gloves took the spotlight, too, and duvet dressing (think oversized, puffy fashion like coats, skirts, jackets, and more) signals how fashion is blending at-home comfort with high-end designs.
