Young Brits are not fans of those in-office team-building exercises.

Feb 09 2022

Young Brits are not fans of those in-office team-building exercises. In YPulse’s What’s Next for Work trend research, we explored how the pandemic has provoked young workers to re-examine their entire relationship with work. For many, that means forgoing returning to the office, but young workers also crave the social connection of in-person work—66% agree, “I miss interacting with my coworkers in-person.” As companies try to woe young workers back to the office with perks like free beer, free breakfast, merch, popcorn carts, and even cash bonuses, one thing they might want to leave in the past is team-building exercises. A study from YouGov found that the majority of young workers have found such activities “cringe-worthy,” and “dread” is the top emotion they associate with the idea of such exercises, followed by “annoyance.” (YouGov)
