PepsiCo is launching a second iteration of its scholarship program that supports Black and Hispanic college students. YPulse’s education research found that over one in five Black students and 42% of Hispanic students say Coronavirus has changed how they will pay for college. But in the last two years, more companies have been launching initiatives to support these demographics. Last month, PepsiCo announced the second iteration of its Community College Program’s S.M.I.L.E (Success Matters in Life & Education) Scholarship, which provides support to Black and Hispanic students who are transitioning from community colleges to four-year universities. The program provides up to $50,000 over two years for tuition and eligible living expenses, mentorship opportunities from PepsiCo employees, and financial wellness courses for each recipient. The company’s Community College Program is part of its $570 million Racial Equality Journey, a comprehensive initiative which supports Black and Hispanic communities, people, and businesses. (Yahoo!
