Pixel Vault is an NFT development startup that wants to build “the first decentralized entertainment company.” Known for its Punks Comic and Metahero Universe NFT launches, the Pixel Vault team just raised $100 million in funding, and has tapped veteran comic book artists to help build out a broader crypto-art entertainment universe featuring a collection of superhero NFTs. Think Marvel, but make it NFTs. Currently, there are 146 core superhero character NFTs and generative characters: One core character is currently going for $300,000 while the generative characters are $18,000. Its first NFT launch, Punks Comic, featured a series of digital and physical comic books featuring characters from CryptoPunks (another NFT thing), while the Metahero Universe project built on Punks Comic with a collection inspired by its 16 main characters.
