Calm is stepping into physical wellness with a “Daily Move” short-form video series. Featuring activities from yoga, to tai chi, Pilates, stretching, dancing, walking, and more, Calm’s series includes three-to-five-minute videos designed to be used at any moment of the day. Users can access the videos via the Calm app, and the brand sees the series as a first step into active mindfulness content for people who have a harder time focusing on traditional meditation and breathing exercises. The series is inspired by a recent Calm study that found people tend to engage in low-energy mindfulness habits like walking and stretching more than high intensity workouts when they want to find a sense of “calm.” YPulse’s mental health research shows trying a new exercise routine is something they’ve done to combat stress / anxiety in the past year, while mindfulness content has taken off during the pandemic.
