Parents who are expecting are feeling the effects of supply chain issues as they await vital baby gear. As expecting parents prepare for their newborn, delayed / longer shipping schedules caused by supply chain disruptions are adding to their worry during an already emotional (and scary) period. Cribs / furniture, car seats, and strollers, are some of the biggest items experiencing “longer than normal” lead times. Million Dollar Baby (parent company of Babyletto and DaVinci) has increased the number of freight carriers and trucking companies it works with to help alleviate the issue, while family-run baby retailer Juvenile Shop, has started lending out floor models and product’s from the store’s warehouse to support parents. While industries across the board have experienced product shortages / shipping delays during the pandemic, it’s weighing heavily on expecting parents who can’t afford to wait an extra few days / weeks for baby essentials.
