Meanwhile, the anticipated beauty trends of 2022 include a mix of natural and bold makeup looks—and more wellness. YPulse’s beauty and personal care research shows no-makeup makeup is a trend Gen Z and Millennials are interested in (although, Gen Z’s interest is a bit higher), with brightly colored hair and makeup also rounding out these gens’ beauty interests. According to Ulta Beauty’s first-ever trends report for 2022, the natural look is expected to take off even more, and the beauty retailer cites textured hair products and skin tints that offer lighter foundation coverage as products that will help beauty consumers embrace the natural look. That doesn’t mean bold beauty is out, however. Ulta Beauty also expects soft and bright hair colors to take off along with bright eye looks featuring a mix of red, sapphire, and pastels. Yelp and Pinterest note nail art will also take off after both experienced an increase in searches for nail art this year. Lastly, as young consumers continue thinking more deeply about mental health, wellness activities like bathing, skincare as self-care, and meditation / manifestation will also boom in 2022. (Glossy)
