Away is helping every young traveler’s dream come true with a scholarship program to help fund their international adventures. With their travel plans put on hold for 2020 and most of 2021, travel is one of the experiences Gen Z and Millennials are most excited to get back to, but cost is still a barrier for many wanderlust-filled young people—especially when it comes to traveling internationally. Enter Away’s Passport Scholarship Fund. The brand worked with Global Glimpse on the program for Giving Tuesday in hopes of creating travel opportunities for students by making it easier to obtain a passport. As many as 500 individuals are expected to travel internationally via the program in 2022, and 200 of them will likely need assistance obtaining a passport. Away’s program will cover the $145 cost of their U.S. passport and offer guidance to students throughout the application process. Additionally, Away’s stores are encouraging students to share their tips for first-time international travelers via passport-style cards throughout the week of Giving Tuesday to help build young travelers’ confidence.
