Millennial parents are allegedly turning to some surprising ways of choosing baby names. According to YPulse’s Millennial parent research, 37% have given their child a unique or creative name, and the pursuit of these nontraditional names has spawned some interesting trends. Many are skipping the baby name books, not to mention the go-to family monikers, and instead turning to methods like crowdsourcing and baby naming services to find the right one. Some services that have previously been used to help name companies are being tapped to name kiddos instead. Meanwhile, there are also baby naming apps, like The Kinder App, which is basically Tinder for baby names that couples can use to swipe right on their faves and see if they have any top picks in common.
