The 15 Percent Pledge is launching a database of brands backed by Google. When YPulse interviewed 15 Percent Pledge founder Aurora James last year, she told us that brands are vital when it comes to supporting anti-racism and urged “major retailers to explore brands that they may have previously turned a blind eye to.” To continue their mission, the nonprofit group recently announced they are launching an online index that includes more than 1,200 Black-owned businesses, which they designed as a way to connect with retailers that have signed their pledge. Google recently signed on to back the database for the next two years by offering “digital training and workshop events” along with marketing support to business owners and founders. (BoF)
