Speaking of holiday shopping events, NBCUniversal is leaning into shoppable content with an AR retail space and livestreamed shopping series. A Virtual Bravo Bazaar—an augmented reality-based online store—is rolling out as part of NBCU’s holiday shopping content this season, bringing merch from shows like The Real Housewives, Below Deck, and other titles to the virtual shops. NBCU worked with Obsess (a virtual store platform), and the checkout experience is completely seamless for consumers as everything is contained within the AR platform—meaning, no linking to third-party retailers’ sites. A three-episode livestreamed shopping series, “Impulse Try with Remi Bader” is also kicking off over Thanksgiving weekend. YPulse’s holiday shopping plans data shows that 40% of Gen Z and 37% of Millennials plan to do their holiday shopping online this year, and virtual experiences like AR stores and livestream shopping are two ways brands are experiencify-ing their online shopping options.
