European Gen Z are getting into plants, and they’re turning to tech to help them.

Nov 10 2021

European Gen Z are getting into plants, and they’re turning to tech to help them. Plant popularity exploded at the start of the pandemic as young consumers looked to spiff up their spaces and adopt new hobbies. And while Millennials’ love affair with plants has been budding for a while now, the younger generation is starting to catch plant fever, too. At the start of lockdowns, the Royal Horticultural Society saw a 533% increase in visits to its website by European Gen Z, and research from Samsung found that 72% of Gen Z say they have a plant baby. But Samsung also found that three quarters of Gen Z want tech to help them care for their plants, including digital reminders, light meters, and smart homes to monitor growing lamps. (Samsung)
