Finance platform Step is teaming up with Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf to help teen gamers learn how to manage their finances. Step is an “all-in-one financial solution built for the next generation” that is going after teens in a new partnership with Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf (Fortnite World Champion and two-time Esports Player of the Year) aimed at helping young gamers gain access to modern financial products and manage their esports earnings. Bugha explains, “When I first got into esports, I was faced with a lot of obstacles as the equipment was upwards of $1,000 and winnings were typically distributed through platforms that require you to be at least 18-years-old like PayPal.” Gaming is booming among Gen Z—YPulse’s gaming research shows that 33% of Gen Z considers themselves a gamer—and many of them don’t have access to their own financial tools according to Step. The Bugha partnership is hoping to meet young gamers’ financial needs, offering teens first-hand gaming experiences with Bugha and the chance to win money from a $5,000 prize pool, while one lucky gamer will score an esports scholarship.
