Honda is going straight for Gen Z and Millennial drivers with its 11th-generation Honda Civic. YPulse’s Driving Forward trend research shows that young consumers’ preferred transportation method is driving their own vehicles, and 25% of 18-24-year-olds and 19% of 25-39-year-olds have become more interested in buying a car because of COVID-19. To capture the next gen’s driving preferences (and nostalgia for the ‘90s), Honda’s 11th-generation Civic (2022 Honda Civic 1.5T Touring) mimics the formal-looking exterior and understated grille design of its ‘90s Accord and features a smart, simple, and comfortable cabin interior (key word here is simplicity). According to the automaker, the Honda Civic has been the bestselling light vehicle in the U.S. among “first-time buyers, Millennials, Gen Z, and multicultural customers” since 2015, and it’s betting that the 11th-generation will continue the trend with a timeless design.
