Troomi Wireless is betting that Millennial parents will want to give their kids smartphones made just for them. The company is partnering with Samsung to release two phones that are designed for children, with no access to social media, and pre-loaded with parental controls and educational content. According to Troomi’s CEO, the phones are made to introduce cellphone use in a more controlled way, with parents deciding what sites can be visited and setting game play limits. YPulse’s Millennial parent report found that 51% have given kids their own tech devices—so clearly there could be an appetite for kid-friendly phones. (Kidscreen)
