Meanwhile, Millennial parents are feeling pressure to overspend on BTS. While brands like GapKids are pulling out all the stops to get families to spend with them for back to school, parents are feeling pushed to spend more than usual. According to a poll from creditcards.com, 36% of all parents feel pressured to spend more than they’re comfortable with on BTS shopping trips—but that number rises to 49% among Millennial parents. YPulse’s back-to-school survey found over half of Millennial parents plan to buy supplies for both in-person and at-home learning, and they’re more likely than older parents to have young kids, so the pressure they’re feeling might stem from the stress of being ready for anything this fall.
