U.K.-startup Bimble is shaking up travel recommendations by letting users create “place lists” for fellow globetrotters. Casually called the “Spotify of travel,” Bimble is forgoing the usual review deluge to give users curated lists that cover everything from London clubs to unmissable experiences in Paris in an easy-access social media-style app. According to Bimble founder Francesca Howland, “Review sites have had their moment, while socially aware, community media will define the next decade.” The app comes along right as the wanderlust generation gets ready to hit the road again after a year of thinking twice about the safety risks involved in traveling. Now, Gen Z and Millennials have a lot of pent-up wanderlust, and YPulse predicted a massive travel boom would happen this year, bringing with it an increased demand for recommendations on hotspots from in-the-know locals and experienced travelers alike.
