Flown is the new “Airbnb for teleworkers” in the U.K., Spain, and Portugal. The startup, which launched in May, allows individuals or teams to book time at one of their remote work-ready locations, giving remote employees a beautiful place to work away from their homes. The company touts the benefits of “deep work”—the idea that “significant” work requires “deep concentration”—and promotes their nature-adjacent properties as the perfect place to be inspired. They also offer tools for learning about deep work, and offer virtual coworking sessions with other Flown users if people crave some company or human interaction while working remotely. As the future of the traditional office continues to be questioned by young employees, “third workplace” solutions like Flown could become more popular. (Axios, Flown)
