German candy company Haribo has teamed up with PUMA to bring its beloved confections to life with a suite of toys, apparel, and footwear. In celebration of the confectioner’s 100-year anniversary, the line launched with three styles of PUMA sneakers and will continue with gummy-themed t-shirts, plush toys, and more. Launching merch has been trending for food and bev brands for some time with young consumers bringing back logomania to sport fun, kitchy brands. Last December, McDonald’s launched “Golden Arches Unlimited,” their first-ever, permanent online shop with themed merchandise. Meanwhile, Popeye’s launched an online clothing line inspired by Beyoncé’s Adidas x Ivy Park collection, which instantly sold out, Oreo debuted a clothing collection in collaboration with influencers from around the world, and Sprite dropped a streetwear line developed by young creators and designer Jeff Staples as a way to promote their “Sprite Ginger” flavors.
