Dutch beauty startup Routinely is helping young consumers devise their optimal skincare routine.

Jul 14 2021

Dutch beauty startup Routinely is helping young consumers devise their optimal skincare routine. We don’t even have to say it—skincare is huge right now. On TikTok, hashtags like #skincare has 49.3 billion views, while #acne has 11.5 billion views, and many are increasingly turning to “skinfluencers” for advice. Makeup use decreased significantly during the pandemic, and YPulse’s beauty and personal care report found that 52% of 13-39-year-olds in the U.S. purchased skincare products during COVID. Half of young women bought beauty and skincare products as retail therapy during the crisis—and 22% are actually researching skincare techniques more often since the pandemic started. Meanwhile, customization is the name of the game in the beauty industry. In the midst of this, Routinely has released 13 unisex serums across Belgium and the Netherlands, along with an app that gives users ongoing, real-time guidance for getting their unique routine just right.
