Micro-weddings aren’t going anywhere post-pandemic. YPulse’s wedding research found that 49% of 13-39-year-olds say micro-weddings are here to stay post-COVID, and some wedding planners agree. After the pandemic hit the industry (hard) last spring, wedding planners started specializing in micro-weddings to make couples’ wedding goals possible…but in a much, much smaller-format. Minne Weddings, Clover Event Co., and D’Concierge are a few companies that emerged and expanded their business offerings during the pandemic to create their own stylized versions of the micro-wedding, and say they will continue their small-format offerings post-pandemic. A May 2021 survey from The Knot also found that 73% of engaged couples believe the micro-wedding is “here to stay,” and the small wedding trend isn’t just cheaper and more accessible, it’s creating more intimate experiences for young couples.
