Lego’s first LGBTQ toy collection is here. YPulse’s playtime trend research found that Legos are one of Millennials’ favorite childhood toys, and the brand continues to evolve to stay relevant with kids (and their parents). “Everyone is Awesome” is the name of Lego’s first LGBTQ set, which is colorfully-designed in rainbow hues, with each character being created with individuality in mind. The set’s designer, Matthew Ashton, notes that he wanted to symbolize inclusivity and create a model that “celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love.” LGTBQ issues is a social cause Gen Z wants brands involved in, and Lego says the collection is an opportunity for the brand to come together and celebrate the LGBTQ community with adult fans, Lego employees, and kids.
