Startup company Bright—a “creator-to-fan” video chat platform—is (virtually) connecting users to their favorite celebrities and creators IRL. YPulse’s Influencer and Celebrity research shows 48% of young people follow an influencer, and they’re going to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to engage with them. Now, Gen Z and Millennials can connect with their favorite content creators and celebrities on the new live video chat platform, Bright. Creators of the platform, who are veterans of the entertainment industry, describe Bright as “a classroom for leveling up your life.” Celebrities like Madonna and Ashton Kutcher are currently onboard with Bright, along with content creators like Gen Z’s Charli and Dixie D’Amelio and YouTubers Tal Fishman and Anthony Rivera, along with more than 200 others. Unfortunately, users can’t just hop on Bright to chat with their favorite creators—but that would be something. Instead, Bright is selling tickets for users to engage in live, two-way educational video sessions, and the first launch sessions include Laura Dern’s Tell Your Story, Champions Talk from former NBA player Kenny Smith, and a session from YouTuber Ronnie2K where he’ll talk about how he started his career in gaming. Creators will be able to set their own ticket prices for their live sessions and users can chat with other Bright attendees, ask their favorite celebrities and influencers questions, and more.
