| Gen Z and Millennials want employers who care about their wellbeing. According to Gallup, Gen Z and Millennials make up nearly half (46%) of the full-time workforce in the U.S.—and they care about different things as employees than previous generations. According to a 2018 study, the top thing younger workers are looking for in an employer is “Caring about an employees’ wellbeing,” while Gen X and Boomers’ top responses was “The organization’s leadership is ethical.” Gen Z and Millennials were also more likely to say “The organization is diverse and inclusive of all people.” Meanwhile, YPulse’s State of Mind trend report found that 86% of 13-39-year-olds believe that employers need to do a better job of offering regular mental health support to their employees.
