Beyond Meat just struck deals with KFC, Pizza Hut, and McDonald’s. Adding plant-based meats to menu is one of the biggest ways that fast food brands have been changing to appeal to young consumers, and we can expect the trend to continue with Beyond Meat’s new partnerships with multiple chains. The brand will be supplying McDonald’s with “faux meat” and working with them to create potential chicken, pork, and even egg alternatives. Meanwhile, they’ll be developing new plant-based menu items for Yum Brands Inc. chains, like KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. Other fast food players “have credited meat-free burger patties for bringing in new diners,” and YPulse has reported that adding plant-based options can seriously boost a brand’s affinity scores with young consumers.
