| Netflix is working on their own documentary about Britney Spears. Following the massive success of Hulu’s “Framing Britney Spears” documentary episode, which was part of The New York Times Presents, Netflix announced that they would be producing their own project helmed by filmmaker Erin Lee Carr highlighting the singer’s fame and the conservatorship situation with her father. While Gen Z were either not alive or babies when Spears first became famous, many of them have “found strength in [her] music and her life story.” The way Gen Z is rallying behind the stars like Spears, Paris Hilton, and Evan Rachel Wood could be “linked to the generation’s openness to mental health issues and the likelihood that its members have received treatment for such issues.” (Bloomberg, NBC News) |
